Ken Holec has 15 years of President/CEO experience at two of Minnesota’s largest enterprise software product companies. He completed 13 years, 8 as CEO, at Lawson Software, an enterprise business applications software provider.

He spent 8 years at ShowCase Corporation, a worldwide provider of enterprise intelligence software solutions until they were acquired by SPSS in 2001. He was with both companies from shortly after they generated their initial revenues until they reached approximately 50M in annual sales. More recently he has served as the interim CEO of Peopleclick in Raleigh, North Carolina. Peopleclick provides workforce solutions to help enterprises efficiently build and manage a productive and diverse workforce.

Ken has extensive experience in enterprise software strategy, marketing, sales, organizational development, financing and multinational operations. Mr. Holec is also currently Chairman of Revation Systems, and has prior Board of Director experience with other software companies including SPSS (SPSS) and Stellent (STEL). He holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota and is an OPM graduate of Harvard University.

Doug Berg is Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Minneapolis-based Jobs2Web Inc. and is an expert in online recruiting strategies. Doug has worked with hundreds of companies to leverage the internet for recruiting on the web, and is a pioneer in the interactive recruiting industry.

Prior to Jobs2Web, Doug founded techies.com which was a leading technology career site which had nearly 1 million IT professional members nationally, and won PC Weeks number 1 career website in 1999. Doug was also founder and CEO of Quantum Consulting & Placement a Minneapolis based IT consulting and placement services company.

Doug is frequently quoted in the press on workforce and career related trends including major publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, Business 2.0 and is a featured speaker/presenter at HR and technology conferences, and holds an honorary Doctorate Degree from Capella University.

Diane Shelgren

Diane Shelgren

An experienced executive with domestic and international expertise in HR Services and consulting, Shelgren has experience in all facets of operations, sales and strategy. Her most recent corporate assignment was executive vice president of strategy and client development for Veritude, a Boston based talent solutions company.

Shelgren has also served as a senior executive at Accenture HR Services, where she revitalized the business, building and developing a new management team and increasing revenue. She also served as senior vice president at Spherion, where she was responsible for recruitment process outsourcing, product management, alliances, and implementation and transition of new clients. Shelgren has also held executive positions in HR services at Ceridian and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Her career began with Dun and Bradstreet, where she had a 20-year career in sales and operations, including extensive work with call centers performing customer service and sales functions.

A recognized expert on the subject of HR outsourcing, Shelgren is a graduate of the University of Minnesota.

Dan Frawley

Dan is currently CEO of Iconoculture which he joined in December 2002 as CEO. Formerly CEO of Techies.com from 1998 to 2001, he raised over $100M in venture capital and grew the company from less than $1M in sales to over $30M in two years. Techies.com filed an S-1 to become a public company but withdrew in Spring 2000 because of poor market conditions. From August 1996 to July 1998, Dan was a senior vice president of Channel Strategies at Gartner Group, where he was responsible for helping to re-architect the distribution strategy for Gartner. In 1989, Dan was a founder and president of J3 Learning Corp., a technology-based, computer-training developer/marketer based in Minneapolis. He remained there until 1996, when the corporation was sold to the Gartner Group. Dan also served for seven years as an aircraft carrier fighter pilot in the U.S. Navy, flying active missions throughout the Middle East and Africa.

Dan is a graduate of the Harvard Business School and the U.S. Naval Academy.

Richard Erickson

Rich Erickson, a Venture Partner at Updata Partners, brings over 20 years of experience in public and private application development and systems integration companies.

Most recently Mr. Erickson was President and CEO of AlphaNet Solutions Inc., a publicly-held IT outsourcing company that was also an Updata Partners portfolio company. In less than two years he drove the turn around, restructuring and ultimate sale to Ciber (CBR-NYSE) in June of 2003.

Mr. Erickson holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Villanova University.

Ira Cohen, Venture Partner, founder and CFO of Updata Partners, brings 25 years of experience in the technology industry as a CFO, private equity investor and investment banker.

Prior to founding Updata, Mr. Cohen was the CFO and Treasurer of CGA Computer, Inc. Tridex Corporation and Computer Magnetics, Inc. Mr. Cohen has served on the boards of directors of several publicly traded companies and currently is on the boards of a number of privately held companies. Mr. Cohen is a CPA and received a B.S. in accounting from City University in New York, Herbert H. Lehman College and a M.S. in banking and financial services from Boston University.
